3.3.1  Responsible service

Central authority responsible for the administration of the civil aviation in the Slovak Republic is the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic.

The authority responsible for the provision of ATS in the Slovak Republic is Letové prevádzkové služby Slovenskej republiky, štátny podnik.

The services are provided in accordance with the provisions contained in the following ICAO documents:

• Annex 2 Rules of the Air

• Annex 11 Air Traffic Services

• Doc 4444 Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Air Traffic Management (PANS-ATM)

• Doc 8168 Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Aircraft Operations (PANS-OPS)

• Doc 7030 Regional Supplementary Procedures

Differences between national regulations and practices and related to ICAO Standards, Recommended Practices and Procedures are given in subsection GEN 1.7.

3.3.2  Area of responsibility

Air traffic services are provided for the entire territory of the Slovak Republic within the BRATISLAVA FIR.

3.3.3  Types of services

The following types of services are provided:

1. Air Traffic Control Service (ATC),

2. Flight Information Service (FIS),

3. Alerting Service,

4. Central Air Traffic Services Reporting Office (CARO).

The Air Traffic Control Services are divided into:

1. Area Control Service (ACC) inclusive radar services,

2. Approach Control Service (APP) inclusive radar services,

3. Aerodrome Control Service (TWR).

Flight Information and Alerting Services are provided by:

1. Bratislava Information Centre (FIC) in class G airspace,

2. aerodrome operators at uncontrolled aerodromes or aircraft operators,

3. ATC Units in area of appropriate responsibility.

3.3.4  Coordination between the aircraft operator and ATS

Coordination between aircraft operators and ATS is carried out in accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 923/2012, provision SERA.7005 and with relevant provisions ICAO Annex 11, ICAO Doc 4444 (PANS-ATM).

3.3.5  Minimum flight altitude

Minimum flight altitudes in BRATISLAVA FIR are established in accordance with the criteria defined in PANS OPS (ICAO Doc 8168, Volume II).

MOC is linearly increased by as much as 100 percent in mountainous areas.

Cold temperature corrections are applied by establishing minimum vectoring altitudes (MVA) only.
