All aircraft operating within BRATISLAVA FIR, whereby territory of the Slovak Republic is overflown, must adhere to the provisions detailed under the para. GEN 1.5.2.
aircraft other than state aircraft operating on the ATS routes within the BRATISLAVA FIR shall be equipped with, as a minimum, RNAV equipment meeting RNAV 5 in accordance with the requirements set out in ICAO Doc 7030 Regional Supplementary Procedures;
Note 1: Acceptable means of compliance with the above mentioned requirement are set out in the EASA AMC 20-4 as amended.
Note 2: The mandatory carriage of RNAV equipment is within BRATISLAVA FIR required on all RNAV routes and on other ATS routes above FL 125, except SID and STAR.
Note 3: RNAV 5 is specification of area navigation, where expression 5 refers to the lateral navigation accuracy in nautical miles, which is expected to be achieved at least 95 % of flying time.
two VHF transmitter/receiver sets operating in the frequency range 118,000 - 136,975 MHz with channel separation of 8,33 kHz, with a headphone set for each crew member;
State aircraft not equipped with VHF transmitter/receiver operating with 8,33 kHz channel spacing shall be equipped with two UHF and/or VHF capable radio equipment with channel separation of 25 kHz; as indicated by ICAO Doc 7030/EUR, depending on used flight level.
Note: Exemptions from mandatory carriage of 8,33 kHz equipment are described in section ENR, para. ENR 1.8.2.
two VOR/ILS navigation receiver sets;
one set of receiver of marker position indicator MKR;
one set of Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) - (special requirement of the Žilina aerodrome - see Žilina AD);
one set of DME interrogator;
turbine airplanes other than state aircraft with MAX take-off weight over 5 700 kg or airplanes authorized to carry more than 19 passengers shall be equipped with ACAS II with software version 7.1 in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation (EU) No 1332/2011;
except for state aircraft, all aircraft intending to conduct flight or a part of flight in the BRATISLAVA FIR within RVSM airspace (between FL 290 and FL 410 inclusive; see para. ENR 1.8.3.1), shall be compliance with the criteria of the RVSM Minimum Aircraft Systems Performance Specifications (RVSM MASPS), and shall be approved for RVSM operations.
Note: RVSM approved aircraft are those aircraft for which the operator has obtained an RVSM approval, either from the state in which the operator is based, or from the state in which the aircraft is registered.
en-route flights: the aircraft have to be equipped with suitable navigation equipment capable to meet RNP 5 without the use of VOR;
when flying in TMA to selected RWY (see note 1) it is possible to take ILS CAT I approach procedure; in other cases the use of NDB (if NDB procedure is published) or visual approach is recommended.
Note 1: Based on FM compatibility analysis the following RWY are considered as "selected":
Bratislava/M. R. Štefánik Aerodrome (LZIB) - RWY 31,
Košice Aerodrome (LZKZ) - RWY 01,
Piešťany Aerodrome (LZPP) - RWY 01.
Žilina Aerodrome (LZZI) - RWY 06,
Poprad-Tatry Aerodrome (LZTT) - RWY 27.
Note 2: Pilots can expect radar vectoring for ILS or NDB approach.
Except for airspace class G* all VFR flights within BRATISLAVA FIR shall be equipped with one VHF transmitter/receiver set operating in frequency range 118,000 - 136,975 MHz with channel separation of 8,33 kHz, with a headphone set for each crew member.
*The exception does not apply to airspace class G portions, where radio mandatory zones (RMZ) are established.
* Does not apply to parachute jumping flights.
Note: SSR transponder Mode S equipment is required under the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1770.
all VFR flights in airspace class C,
all IFR flights with MTOM 5 700 kg or less, or TAS 250 kt (463 km/h) or less.
Note 1: Operators of non-equipped state aircraft shall include the indicator SUR/EUADSBX or SUR/EUEHSX or SUR/EUELSX or a combination thereof, in Item 18 of the flight plan.
Note: Applications submit to info@lps.sk or call to the appropriate ATC unit.
