LZTT AD 2.20  LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

2.20.1  Airport regulations

In the case of mountain waves expect turbulence in the Tatry CTR.

Use of RWY 07L/25R and RWY 07R/25L is possible after prior approval by operator airportAeroclub Poprad only. Approval shall be requested 6 hours in advance via TEL +421/52/431 14 44+421/908/23 85 03 or +421/905/31 25 73.

All flights outside OPR HR at Poprad-Tatry aerodrome (with the exception of emergency medical service helicopters flights, search and rescue flights authorized by competent SAR unit and emergency landings) are authorized only after prior confirmation of AD operator. Flights outside OPR HR are performed at aircraft operator own risk.

2.20.2  Taxiing to and from stands

In accordance to TWR or marshaller instructions.

2.20.3  Parking area for small aircraft (General aviation)

At APN.

2.20.4  Parking area for helicopters

At APN.

2.20.5  Apron - taxiing during winter conditions

2.20.6  Taxiing - limitations

Special attention is required during taxiing of JET aircraft at south edge of APN because terminal building is close to APN.

2.20.9  Removal of disabled aircraft from RWY

ACFT owner/operator is responsible for removal of disabled ACFT from RWY. If ACFT owner/operator does not remove ACFT without delay, AD OPR will arrange removal of disabled ACFT from RWY at ACFT owner/operator expense without any liability for ACFT damage during removal from RWY.

2.20.10   AFIS Service

AFIS service is not provided.

Before entering airspace of Tatry CTR/Poprad TMA outside published OPR HR of Tatry TWR pilots are requested to verify provision of ATS by calling on FREQ of Tatry TWR 121,350 MHz.

This is due to possible change of OPR HR of Tatry TWR on a short notice when issuing of appropriate NOTAM in due time is not possible or pilots are not able to become familiar with appropriate NOTAM during the flight.

An Aerodrome Traffic Zone (ATZ) is activated outside OPR HR of Tatry TWR.

CTAF FREQ: 122,700 MHz

Requirements of para. ENR 1.1.8.2 shall be followed.

Note 1: Information about changes of OPR HR of Tatry TWR (para. LZTT AD 2.3.7) is published by NOTAM or provided by BRATISLAVA FIC on request.

LZTT AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

Limitations are not applied.


LZTT AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

2.22.1  General

Cloud base height is related to the THR RWY 27 elevation.

2.22.2  RWY in use

RWY in use is selected by Tatry TWR as the best for general purposes. If it is unsuitable for a particular operation, the pilot can obtain permission from ATC to use another RWY, but must accept that it could cause a delay.

2.22.3  Procedures for IFR flights within Tatry CTR/Poprad TMA 1, Poprad TMA 2, Poprad TMA 3 and Poprad TMA 4
2.22.3.1 Holding

Holding procedures are described and shown on Standard Departure Charts - Instrument (SID) - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZTT-5-1, AD 2-LZTT-5-3), on Standard Arrival Chart - Instrument (STAR) - ICAO (page AD 2-LZTT-6-1) and on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZTT-7-1, AD 2-LZTT-7-3, AD 2-LZTT-7-5, AD 2-LZTT-7-7).

2.22.3.2 Arriving flights

Standard instrument arrivals (STAR) are described in para. LZTT AD 2.22.8 and shown on Standard Arrival Chart - Instrument (STAR) - ICAO (page AD 2-LZTT-6-1).

Initial, intermediate, final and missed approach procedures are described and shown on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZTT-7-1, AD 2-LZTT-7-3, AD 2-LZTT-7-5, AD 2-LZTT-7-7).

On first establishment of two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER pilots of arriving aircraft shall:

  1. report aircraft identification and actual and cleared level,

  2. report assigned heading or direct routing in case of flight outside ATS routes,

  3. confirm ATIS information and QNH.

2.22.3.3  Visual approach

Pilots conducting visual approach are expected not to enter airspace class G.

Pilot shall, in case of missed approach, conduct missed approach procedure, published in instrument approach chart of the respective procedure for the RWY in use, unless otherwise instructed by ATC.

2.22.3.4 Circling approach

Circling approach procedure is possible to perform only for non-instrument RWY 09, after instrument approach RWY 27.

For each aircraft category specified OCA (OCH) and visibility minima are stated on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZTT-7-1, AD 2-LZTT-7-3, AD 2-LZTT-7-5, AD 2-LZTT-7-7).

Pilots are obliged to perform the flight so to avoid an area north of the aerodrome/extended centre line of RWY 09/27.

2.22.3.4.1  Circling approach directions

For RWY 09 a RIGHT circling is established.

2.22.3.5 Departing flights

Standard instrument departures (SID) are described in para. LZTT AD 2.22.7 and shown on Standard Departure Charts - Instrument (SID) - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZTT-5-1, AD 2-LZTT-5-3).

Pilots, who are unable to follow SID or issued non-standard clearances shall inform ATC before departure and request alternate clearance.

Pilots of departing aircraft shall establish two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER for the purpose of obtaining:

  1. start-up clearance

    Note 1: Pilots should ask for start-up clearance when they are ready for start-up within 1 minute.

    Note 2: Start-up clearance will also contain CTOT, in case the flight is subject to ATFM measures.

  2. ATC clearance, which will consist of:

    1. destination aerodrome,

    2. SID,

    3. cleared level,

    4. SSR code,

    5. departure instructions if needed.

    Note 3: Pilots, who are asking only for ATC clearance and for starting the engines will be ready later, shall advise it to an ATC unit, stating the time when expecting to start the engines.

    Note 4: If the ATC clearance is not ready due to operational reasons, it will be passed to pilots at latest before issuing a take-off clearance.

  3. taxi clearance.

On first establishment of two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER pilots shall:

  1. report aircraft identification, destination aerodrome, stand identification,

  2. confirm ATIS information and QNH,

  3. report requirements in connection with execution of departure if necessary.

On first establishment of two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER after airborne pilots shall report:

  1. aircraft identification,

  2. actual and cleared level,

  3. SID or present heading in case of non-standard clearance.

2.22.3.6  Visual departure

Pilots conducting visual departure are expected not to enter airspace class G.

2.22.4  Radar procedures
2.22.4.1 The radar services in Tatry CTR/Poprad TMA 1, Poprad TMA 2, Poprad TMA 3 and Poprad TMA 4 are provided by aerodrome control tower - call sign TATRY TOWER. If provision of radar services is not possible the aerodrome control tower shall inform pilot immediately after the first radio contact is established.
2.22.4.2 According to the air traffic intensity in CTR/TMA or taking into account some other facts influencing the provision of radar services is up to air traffic controller to decide whether radar services are provided or not, or which of radar services can be provided (see para. ENR 1.6.1.2.7).
2.22.4.3 Pilots will be instructed to follow standard instrument arrival (STAR), or will be vectored and sequenced to the appropriate final approach track, so as to ensure an expeditious flow of traffic. Vectors and levels will be issued, as required for separating the aircraft, taking into account minimum obstacle clearance and aircraft characteristics.

2.22.6  Procedures for VFR flights within Tatry CTR/Poprad TMA 1, Poprad TMA 2, Poprad TMA 3 and Poprad TMA 4

Provided that traffic situation makes it possible, an ATC clearance for VFR flight will be issued under the conditions described in the following provisions.

2.22.6.1 Arriving flights and overflights

Pilots of aircraft entering Tatry CTR/Poprad TMA 1, Poprad TMA 2, Poprad TMA 3 or Poprad TMA 4 from uncontrolled airspace shall establish two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER at least 3 minutes before entering and pass flight data according to para. ENR 1.1.6.

2.22.6.2 Departing flights

Pilots of aircraft departing from Poprad-Tatry aerodrome, shall establish two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER. Pilots departing from other place of departure within Tatry CTR shall establish two-way radio contact with TATRY TOWER. Pilots shall consequently pass:

  1. aircraft identification,

  2. stand identification or place of departure within CTR if appropriate,

  3. confirmation of ATIS information and QNH,

  4. request for a flight clearance for flights with submitted flight plan or request for submission of limited information of a flight plan according para. ENR 1.10.1.1.5.

Pilots may be required to hold at a specific geographical location.

2.22.6.5 All VFR flights to/from the Tatry CTR shall be carried out only via established entry and exit points unless the appropriate ATS unit states otherwise.
