LZPP AD 2.20  LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

2.20.1  Airport regulations
2.20.1.1 All flights outside of OPR HR at Piešťany aerodrome are authorized by AD administration upon prior contract only.
2.20.1.2 Regulation of para. AD 2.20.1.1 does not have respect to the flights of air rescue service and flights directly connected with the rescue of human life, search and rescue flights authorized by a competent SAR body and flights which have executed forced or emergency landings.
2.20.1.3 Flights according to para. AD 2.20.1.1 and AD 2.20.1.2 are performed by aircraft operator only on his own risk.
2.20.2  Taxiing to and from stands

According to the signs and instructions of TWR or car ”FOLLOW ME” and manual signals.

2.20.3  Parking area for small aircraft (General aviation)

Parking at APN.

2.20.4  Parking area for helicopters

Parking at APN.

2.20.5  Apron - taxiing during winter conditions

The winter maintenance of the APN is provided.

In case of illegibility of the markings on the operational areas - by manual signals of the marshaller.

2.20.6  Taxiing - limitations

2.20.10   AFIS Service

AFIS service is not provided.

Before entering airspace of Piešťany CTR/TMA outside published OPR HR of Piešťany TWR pilots are requested to verify provision of ATS by calling on FREQ of Piešťany TWR 118,575 MHz.

This is due to possible change of OPR HR of Piešťany TWR on a short notice when issuing of appropriate NOTAM in due time is not possible or pilots are not able to become familiar with appropriate NOTAM during the flight.

An Aerodrome Traffic Zone (ATZ) is activated outside OPR HR of Piešťany TWR.

Requirements of para. ENR 1.1.8.2 shall be followed.

LZPP AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

2.22.1  General

Not applied.

2.22.2   RWY in use

RWY in use is selected by Piešťany TWR as the best for general purposes. If it is unsuitable for a particular operation, the pilot can obtain permission from ATC to use another one, but must accept that it could cause a delay.

2.22.3  Procedures for IFR flights within Piešťany CTR/Piešťany TMA 1 and Piešťany TMA 2

Warning: Due to mountainous terrain north-east of the Piešťany aerodrome,

  1. it is required for all IFR traffic manoeuvring north-east from extended centre line of RWY 01 a strict adherence to the track, altitude and speed restrictions of the published procedures,

  2. for the purpose of operator's contingency procedures design (engine out procedures, missed approach procedures due to loss of capability RNP APCH), it is recommended to use for

    RWY 01 LEFT turn.

2.22.3.1 Holding

Holding procedures are described and shown on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZPP-7-1, AD 2-LZPP-7-3 and AD 2-LZPP-7-5).

2.22.3.2 Arriving flights

Standard instrument arrivals (STAR) are described in para. LZPP AD 2.22.8 and shown on Standard Arrival Chart - Instrument (STAR) - ICAO (page AD 2-LZPP-6-1).

Initial, intermediate, final and missed approach procedures are described and shown on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZPP-7-1, AD 2-LZPP-7-3 and AD 2-LZPP-7-5).

Clearance to perform RNP APCH (AD 2-LZPP-7-5) is issued on pilot's request. Further information regarding RNP APCH is stated in para. AD 1.1.6.

On first establishment of two-way radio contact with PIEŠŤANY TOWER pilots of arriving aircraft shall:

  1. report aircraft identification and actual and cleared level,

  2. report assigned heading or direct routing in case of flight outside ATS routes.

2.22.3.3  Visual approach

Pilots conducting visual approach are expected not to enter airspace class G.

Pilot shall, in case of missed approach, conduct missed approach procedure, published in instrument approach chart of the respective procedure for the RWY in use, unless otherwise instructed by ATC.

2.22.3.4 Circling approach

Circling approach procedure is possible to be performed only to non-instrument RWY 19, after instrument approach to RWY 01.

OCA (OCH) for each aircraft cetegory is stated on Instrument Approach Charts - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZPP-7-1, AD 2-LZPP-7-3, AD 2-LZPP-7-5).

Pilots are obliged to perform the flight so to aviod an area east of the aerodrome/extended centre line of RWY 01/19.

2.22.3.4.1  Circling approach directions

For RWY 19 a RIGHT circling is established.

2.22.3.5 Departing flights

Standard instrument departures (SID) are described in para. LZPP AD 2.22.7 and shown on Standard Departure Charts - Instrument (SID) - ICAO (pages AD 2-LZPP-5-1, AD 2-LZPP-5-3).

Pilots, who are unable to follow SID or issued non-standard clearances, shall inform ATC before departure and request alternate clearance.

Pilots of departing aircraft shall establish two-way radio contact with PIEŠŤANY TOWER for the purpose of obtaining:

  1. ATC clearance, which will consist of:

    1. destination aerodrome,

    2. SID,

    3. cleared level,

    4. SSR code,

    5. departure instructions if needed,

    6. CTOT, in case the flight is subject to ATFM measures.

Note 1: Pilots, who are asking only for ATC clearance and for starting the engines will be ready later, shall advise it to an ATC unit, stating the time when expecting to start the engines.

Note 2: If the ATC clearance is not ready due to operational reasons, it will be passed to pilots before issuing a take-off clearance at the latest.

  1. start-up clearance

Note 3: Pilots should ask for start-up clearance when they are ready for start-up within 1 minute.

  1. taxi clearance.

On first establishment of two-way radio contact with PIEŠŤANY TOWER pilots shall:

  1. report aircraft identification, destination aerodrome, stand identification,

  2. report intention to go through De/Anti-icing procedure or other requirements in connection with execution of departure if necessary.

2.22.3.6  Visual departure

Pilots conducting visual departure are expected not to enter airspace class G.

2.22.4  Radar procedures

IFR flights, if necessary, will be vectored and sequenced to the final approach track by Štefánik APP, see LZIB AD 2.18.

2.22.5  Radio communication failure

See para. ENR 1.1.11.

2.22.6  Procedures for VFR flights within Piešťany CTR/Piešťany TMA 1 and Piešťany TMA 2

Provided that traffic situation makes it possible, an ATC clearance for VFR flight will be issued under the conditions described in the following provisions.

2.22.6.1 Arriving flights and overflights

Pilots of aircraft entering Piešťany CTR/Piešťany TMA 1 or Piešťany TMA 2 from uncontrolled airspace shall establish two-way radio contact on FREQ of Piešťany TWR (see para. LZPP AD 2.18), at least 3 minutes before entering and pass flight data according to para. ENR 1.1.6.

2.22.6.2 Departing flights

Pilots of aircraft departing from Piešťany aerodrome or from other place of departure within Piešťany CTR shall establish two-way radio contact with PIEŠŤANY TOWER. Pilots shall consequently pass:

  1. aircraft identification,

  2. stand identification or place of departure within CTR if appropriate,

  3. request for a flight clearance for flights with submitted flight plan or request for submission of limited information of a flight plan according para. ENR 1.10.1.1.5.

2.22.6.3 Holding

2.22.6.5 All VFR flights to/from the Piešťany CTR shall be carried out only via established entry and exit points unless appropriate ATS unit states otherwise.

Pilots of VFR flights are reminded of the requirements to remain in VMC at all times and must advise ATC if at any time they are unable to comply with the instructions issued.
